We are building a limited-equity housing cooperative in La Villita that will create long term affordability for residents.
Our Project
The limited equity model that we use allows individuals and families to own a share in the cooperative while ensuring that homes remain affordable for future generations. By balancing collective ownership with stable, accessible housing costs, our project offers an alternative to the rising rents and displacement that have unfortunately affected so many in our community.
Our cooperative is rooted in the values of community and equity. Through shared decision-making, members have a direct say in the management of their homes and the broader direction of the cooperative. This approach cultivates a strong sense of belonging, mutual support, and a shared investment in the well-being not only of fellow co-op members but also of the neighborhood as a whole.
By prioritizing affordability and collectivity, we aim to create a sustainable housing solution that resists gentrification and displacement and empowers residents to take an active role in shaping and stabilizing their futures. Our project is about more than housing; it’s about preserving Little Village’s vibrant culture and ensuring its residents can continue to live, work, and thrive here. It is a movement to redefine homeownership and protect the heart of La Villita for years to come.
